The Room of Requirement

After arriving on the Quidditch Pitch, Dinah doesn't waste any time heading to the seventh floor, still carrying the bundle she brought back with her.


When she told Leonardo he wanted the gym, she meant a very specific gym. Ever since her second year when her mother was in St, Mungo's for the first time and all she wanted was to be with her uncle Ted, she's taken to using the Room when it looks alomst exactly like Ted Grant's gym in the East End. Except that many years of use as a training spcace for her nad her friends have given it a specialist twist. The punching bags, for example, punch back.

Elbowing her way in with the bundle in her hands, she glances around the room for Leonardo. She's not late, but she wouldn't put it past him to be early.

Now he's just funning on her.

Dinah grins, wider than the joke deserves because it seems like he doesn't make a lot of them.

"There's a family resemblance."

"On our paperwork, perhaps."

It's said with love. He...is honestly quite flattered that she believes them to have any resemblance at all, even if she's just saying so to be nice.

It's received with love, really. Dinah of all people understands found family.

She grins, and is about to say something else when she freezes.

"What time is it?"

They've been here for ages.

"Unless this room has a Slow-Time running on it, I'd wager it was was quarter-to.

"...I should get to Potions," Dinah says. "I don't want to have to face Aquam's sarcasm."

"You know of a way to avoid facing his sarcasm? Can that be the focus of our next meeting?"

"Ha." Dinah does actually say the word, one step down from actually laughing. "If I know that, I'd be charging for lessons at this school."

She moves to the door, picking up her robes from where she dropped them. "Do you want to use the room? It'll stay as long as you need it."

"Yes, I think I'd like that. Thank you."

It's quiet here, and has the added benefit of lacking the additional weight of his green and silver tie.

"Good luck."

"Thank you."

Dinah looks around for her book bag, then realises it's still in the Tower. She really is going to be late. At least Professor Aquam likes her.

"You too. Same time next week?"

She's looking forward to it.

"Same time next week," he says with a smile and a nod.

Dinah returns both smile and nod, with her hand already on the door handle. By the time she hurries out, she's wearing a flushed grin, excited already for next week.

As long as she can survive Potions.
