Since having found out there's going to be an explorer's club as well as some help regarding his charms work in the future, Tyler's gotten to be pretty relaxed and happy. He's got a few friends, who for today, aren't with him in the hallway right now, as he heads up to the library to look up more things on charms to try and at least PASS that class.

That's why, jogging up the passage towards the library, he's woefully unprepared for the group of Slytherin fourth years, just coming OUT of the library. It's why he freezes upon seeing Charles Brigman, the fourth year he ended up getting caught for filching, just as the bigger, meaner boy catches sight of him, and then runs.

"buggerbuggerbugger."

He is no match for Brigman with a wand, and while he's Gryffindor, he is not a bloody minded fool.

"EAT SLUGS YOU LITTLE SQUIB!"

"BUGGER!"

He's not going to dodge the next blast, so there's a first year, running for all he's worth down the passageway.

"Healing charms are easy," Mel says.

It's not like she falls often, but when she does, she falls hard. Knowing how to fix her own nose is imperative.

She watches him listen, sitting in silence for a few seconds, while she finishes her shoes, then she starts down the tunnel again.

....Tyler doesn't have a response to that. It's not like Mel couldn't already know he's the wandless wonder of Gryffindor house...

Besides that he caught a noise of..something further down the tunnel.

The grade goes up for a good long while before they're going level flat again.

"...you hear that?"

Mel had slowed, but not stopped. In lower tones than she's been using: "wind?"

"...outside wind." Tyler replies back. "Like it's outside a door, but real faint.."

A few meters up ahead the passage starts to get a little dustier.

"I hear it."

Dust means something to create dust. And something to laye it down. Mel's entire posture changes; she moves lower, quieter, and faster, darting forward with her eyes and ears open.

Before she comes to a stop at the end of the tunnel; where it joins a small room.

And it's nowhere Mel's seen before.

The only ways in or out of the room would have been the tunnel they just came through, or the small, extremely dirty old window directly facing their tunnel. Everything, the old crumbling chair and table are covered with a thick grey layer of the dust, painted red by Mel's wand glow.

Tyler, upon entering sits a moment to look around the room. "Looks like swallows nested in here once...or mice...lookit that piece of glass missing..."

Mel had taken a moment at the tunnel to assess whether it was worth going into the room or not, so Tyler's ahead of her by the time she decides to bring herself out.

She extinguishes her wand so they just have what sunlight can come through the dirty window, and no one can see them from outside.

There, she stands, looking around the place. "What a hole."

"...how many people do you think know about this?" Tyler thinks aloud, looking about the room...and thinking about how he can get this place cleaned up.

He could climb five meters to get up into here with some practice...

Mel looks down at the dust on the floor, newly scuffed her single step into the room and Tyler's more energetic movements.

She glances up at the window, and at the worn dusty chair and table.

"No one who din't cover their tracks really well."

"...no one who's been here in years..." Tyler grins. "I'll bet you a box of chocolate frogs someone probably forgot about this place."

"Can have the frogs," Mel says, with a small smile of her own. "You got a plan for this room, squirt?"

"...I'm just thinking how many cauldrons I can fit in here for making my own potions." Tyler grins. This'll be so much easier to work in than that cramped little cubby he found in Gryffindor.

"It's close to Slytherin so you could drop the ingredients off here...after it gets cleaned up a bit."

Mel gives the room another look aroound, and eventually nods.

"Yeah. That'd work. Then you leave me the powder and I stick it in his socks."
