The Three Broomsticks; Late Night

Jo is Bored. Adulthood is sometimes Boring. 



Fail, Adulthood, Fail. And the empty bar. 
Where she "has to stay" for the time being.






To counteract this, Jo is sitting on one end of the bar reading her mail.  Indian style. Wearing a cowboy hat only those who went to school with her would remember from their fourth year.

"They're yours," with a dismissive wave of his hand and a smirk. "Which I hope you take to mean 'their detentions for me will be scheduled by Professor Ross.'"

What? She can make them do research.

"In the rare event I actually use the textbook, yes, I think that's what's on the list." Eyebrow lifts and he looks at her, hopeful. "What've you got?"

"So when I started putting a War with Voldemort curriculum together for the second years, Leah explains., I discovered that no one'd really done anything approaching an archaeological survey of the sites in the actual school. Which is what I did over the summer.

"Turns out that one of your predecessors had a student who really didn't think much of the set NEWT textbook."

Sokka lifts an eyebrow, not yet seeing the connection. "Sounds like a brilliant student. What's it got to do with archaeological surveys?"

"It's really hard to compare handwriting with my eyes," Leah continues. "But. If I'm right, based on some geneological stuff I'm reading, the student in question grew up to be a Potions Master in his own right, and Headmaster for a whole year."

Leah is dead proud of her research. She may be bouncing a little in the excitmenet of finally telling someone.

Sokka Aquam, stunned into silence.






"...you found Severus Snape's Potions textbook?" is a very weakly-asked question.

"Maaaaybe" Leah admits. "There's bogloads of fire damage, so it's hard to tell without charming it, and I realyy don't want to do that. I'm hoping the new bookstore does restorations."

"Bugger that, let me see it!"

Public space? What public space? There is only one thing of importance here and it is in Leah's obviously-unworthy possession.

"Come to my office tomorrow then," Leah objects. "i'm not leaving here until I've finished my drink and bought you one."

"You honestly think you can ply me with liquor after dropping a blast like that on me?" Sokka demands, incredulous. "Do you know what's rumored to be in that book? All the improvements he'd made to existing spells? All the spells of his own design! Granted, a majority of them are said to be unnecessarily nasty, but the potions alone would be fascinating!"

"And," she pokes him in the chest. "It is an artefact of great historical value. I found it, Mr. Potions Master. Mine."

"...you are a horrible person and I'm going to put Venomous Tentacula Juice in your dinner goblet."

"I'm smarter than you and I'm going to switch the goblets when you're not looking."

"But I'll be expecting that and will have put it in my goblet first."

"I'll know if you do that," Leah points out. "I have magic eyes."
