Hogwarts: Covered Bridge, early evening

It's after dinner and studying that Aloysius Crumrin (7th year, Slytherin) takes himself outside to the Covered Bridge for a smoke and perhaps a bit of woolgathering, though he'd never admit it. There is drizzle in the air that promises a wet evening but he is enjoying it as it reminds him of his home in California.

Company wouldn't be a bad thing really, a fact he might even admit to.

Will's been walking on the edges of the Forbidden Forest and has his cloak pulled up as he makes his way to the bridge and nods to Aloysius saying, "Crumrin, enjoying the weather?"

He doesn't trust or like Aloysius but he's Head Boy and Dinah puts up with him so Will feels like he should be polite and aware.

Company comes in the form of his partner in Head studentness, Dinah, who wanted to check in on him and of course, knows exactly where she'd find him: on the bridge, having a fag.

"You know, there are spells that will cure you of that addiction."

Oh look, it's the Scrapper, Aloysius thinks as he nods in return. He pulls his overcoat (more opera clock really) closer and says, "Reminds me of home though I would venture to add it's a tad chillier. You?"

Will's cloak is rather old and worn but works,

"About the same as home really, the trees are different."

"But then whom will the teacher tsk at?" Aloysius replies arching an eyebrow. He takes another drag before stamping out the bud. "Besides I know a charm that nearly removes all the ill affects."

Aloysius' is rather well kept but old.

"Ah yes, you're from south of here yes? Nottingham if memory serves?" He notes Will's clothes and stance (just in case) but offers no comment to their condition like one would expect one of his House to do.

He's alert but not obviously prepared for a fight, he's being nice because if he's not Dinah will probably yell at him,

"Yes, my family's been in Nottingham for a long time."

Good news for Aloysius. The last thing he wants is a fight.

"Ah, that's right. Have a nice walk in the forest?" He's pretty sure Will didn't actually go into the forest but can't resist the little push.

"Yes, I usually do,"

Its not Sherwood so he doesn't go too far into the forest but he goes in more than he's allowed to. Also he's curious to see if Aloysius will try and report him for it.

"The professors have plenty of people to tsk at, dont' worry about that."

She grins, knowing full well that he would reply with a charm like that and leans against the wall of the brdige, looking out over the forest. "Anything exciting happening out here?"

"Ah," Aloysius says holding up a finger, "but only one of them is Head Boy. And no nothing exciting. Well I think I did break up a group of third years who were planning on practicing their levitation charms by throwing rock over the side...or was it themselves? I'm not sure really, they ran away before I could ask."

A tempting idea but he has nothing to gain by it and considering he's smoking within what is technically the interior of the school, he's not one to cast stones.

"I'd be careful of the Groundskeeper then. I haven't had much chance to chat with the fellow but he seems quite competent."

"I wouldn't stop them from throwing rocks," Dinah muses. "Unless there was someone they were throwing them at."

"Neither would I have," he replies though he might have allowed the throwing at someone depending on whom that someone was. "They just ran away before I got close enough to find out what really was going on. I did hear a Levioso or maybe it was Leviosa, either way, no trouble. I did see your boy Scarlett though. I don't particularly care what he was doing but he came from the forest. Thought you should know."

"Yes, well, that's Will," Dinah says, unbothered by it. "He likes to walk the circuit. Never goes far in."

Aloysius shrugs as he really doesn't care. "I didn't threaten any points or anything. If he wants to feel useful by walking around that's his purgative."

Dinah cocks him a sideways look. "Who said anythingn about being useful?"

He laughs at that.

"Out of trouble then," he replies but then thinks better of it. "Well unless he runs afoul with the Groundskeeper. Not to sure what to make of him."

Dinah stops short of pointing out that Aloysius never knows what to make of people.

"He seems nice. I went to say hi, once. He gave me tea."

Mind you, around Hogwarts these days, adults giving you tea isn't always the best thing.

"Tea?" Aloysius laments with a sly grin. "Does no one in the country drink coffee?"

"Sorry, Aloysius," Dinah replies consolingly.

"maybe you need out hang out more with Professor Brown."

"Ah, I'll keep that in mind. I won't have to clean erasers or anything to get it will I?"

"No, just offer to help her lcear out Pixies," Dinah assures him. "I can thikn of worse waays to pass the time."

"I will, I'm fairly good at being careful. How are you finding being Head Boy?"

"Boring so far. Most kids just run the other way whenever I show up so I haven't had to really do anything. I don't even know if they were doing anything wrong in the first place."

He could take offense to it but it cuts down on the useless interruptions.
