At lunch a few folded pieces of parchment are passed around. Mostly between the younger years, but some of the older transfer students too.

Sign-up sheets for the Hogwarts Exploration Club

Meeting times (roughly every two weeks), places (Great Hall until everyone knows somewhere more discrete), goals (not getting lost if you don't take the same path between classes, secret passages and lost passages later), official staff sponsor (Professor Ross) and what that brings with it (some history added on top of the mapping).

There is a handful of empty lines at the bottom for names and houses, always at least one more at the bottom.

After lunch the paper will fold itself up and fly off.

...like he's going to pass this up. Tyler grabs the paper in time to scribble his name, year and house into one line and then look around for Julie.

they've been spending weekends exploring some of the passages he's discovered prior.

She's not that far behind.

"Oh brilliant," she exclaims as she catches what Tyler is reading. "Is that for real?"

"I think so!" Tyler probably hasn't looked this pleased since he got that speech of praise in Potions class as he passes the sheet over to her.

"I can hardly wait, we're already a little ahead in the passages I think."

"We should bring the map we've been working on! Or did we want to keep that to ourselves?"

"Let's keep it to ourselves for now," Tyler decides quickly. "We can decide which passages we wanna show em later."

"Okay," Julie says with a grin relishing the secret. "Who else has signed up?"

"Kirika, and I don't know these other names...looks like your cousin Suzi wasn't interested, this list has gone through the Hufflepuffs already."

[fiss84]

Julie looks over the list and doesn't recognize many names. "I'm not too surprised. Suzi doesn't do much unless a friend is involved. I've talked with Kirika a bit. She seems nice and she's from France."

There might be a bit of awe in Julie's voice for that last bit.

"She gets a lot of crap from some people about her memory problems, and I think she's really homesick. Or just sick of having to be around people like Charles Brigman."

"Oh," Julie says with a hint of guilt as she hasn't made any time for her cousin. "Maybe I should go visit her and invite her."

"...I meant Kirika, not Suzi."

[fiss84]

"Oh," Julie says nearly face palming. "Do you think I should invite Suzi though?"

Suzi is nice but she does have trouble controlling her magic, often with explosive results.

"You go ask her if she wants to, but I think she's making some friends in Hufflepuff. That lad, Bernard Bryce has been hanging around with her a lot."

"How about if I run into her, I'll mention it. Is Charles still giving you trouble?" She actually whispers this last as she doesn't want to embarrass her only friend.

[basic_powers]

"Yes, especially if he catches me between classes." He makes a face. "He hasn't given up since I got him caught for filching things at the station."

"I wonder if there's some spell which can warn you if he's near. Like a Charm or something," Julie muses.

When the parchments make it to the Hufflepuff table Mike very nearly passes them to the person next to him, that is until he notices the mention of "secret passages".
