Hallowe'en!

Congratulations! You've made it halfway through the winter term, and someone is determined that you will enjoy this evening. The smells of the feast started permeating the classrooms about mid afternoon, and by the time classes are let out for the day, the corridor are resplendant in pumpkins and candles.

The Great Hall, is the focus of the celebrations, with animated carved pumpkins on every table, more candles than there've been since the Sorting Ceremony and everyone somehow finding that they do in fact have better robes than the ones they usually wear.

It's the Annual Hogwarts Hallowe'en feast: Tuck in!

Will's directly across the table from Dinah and next to Babs, he needed this break.

He's managing to do what he needs to but he doesn't think he's ever been this busy at Hogwarts before.

He'll know why Dinah quit Quidditch, then.

"How's the new team shaping up?"

[will_scarlett]

"Good, they're starting to calm down and focus more,"

He does and doesn't blame her at all, there's so much to do.

"You've got Raphael calming down?"

Dinah grins. "That must be something to see."

[will_scarlett]

"No, but I'm getting better at aiming him,"

Now that he's watched the brothers, he doesn't understand how Mike seems to know how to get Raph to do things.

Dinah, who has heard most about Raph from Leo, laughs.

"That's apparently the best way to get him to do things."

[will_scarlett]

"It works and my Episkey spell are improved,"

Will hasn't had this many bruises in a while.

"Good," Dinah says. "Because one of these days I'm going to give up treating you."

[will_scarlett]

"I know how to take care of myself. It's just by the time practice is over, I'd rather not," Which he knows she understands.

She does. And because she understands, she feels entitled to give him stick about it.

"We need to get you a girlfriend."

[will_scarlett]

"I'm going to the White Lotus with Barbara next Hogsmeade weekend,"

It's not exactly a date but it's something.

Dinah blinks at him.

Then grins, and pumps a fist at her side.

"Well, that solves the problem of getting her someone, too."

[will_scarlett]

"It's not a date. We're just going to see if The White Lotus has coffee,"

He blushes and grabs a pumpkin pasty to try and hide it, he likes Babs a lot and doesn't want to mess things up.

The two young Quidditch players further down the table are tugging in as if food was going out of fashion tomorrow.

"Ooooh, look, pumpkin with rice!" the blond Theo declares, shovelling some onto his table.

Will looks down at them at grins, they're good additions to the team.

"This is great food!" the dark Theo says, grinning up at Will.

"It is, only the best on Halloween. Don't eat too fast. I don't want you dealing with a stomachache at practice tomorrow."

"But then the others get it!" the blond Theo argues.

"There will be more especially if the House Elves know you like it. It won't disappear on you,"

Will laughs, they're so enthusiastic.

"These chicken legs are really good, too," the dark Theo remarks, taking another one. "We need to keep our strength up for Quidditch, after all!"

The both beam brightly at that praise. Even the dark one, who's less cheerful and a lot more reticent.

"And make sure to save some space for dessert as it's always amazing on Halloween."

"Oh yes!" the blond Theo says. "Do you think there will be candy skulls?"

"There were, last year," the dark Theo says.
