Hallowe'en!

Congratulations! You've made it halfway through the winter term, and someone is determined that you will enjoy this evening. The smells of the feast started permeating the classrooms about mid afternoon, and by the time classes are let out for the day, the corridor are resplendant in pumpkins and candles.

The Great Hall, is the focus of the celebrations, with animated carved pumpkins on every table, more candles than there've been since the Sorting Ceremony and everyone somehow finding that they do in fact have better robes than the ones they usually wear.

It's the Annual Hogwarts Hallowe'en feast: Tuck in!

And Dinah shows no hurry to leave the table after eating, either. She stays in place, still washing down cake with butterbeer and chatting, after the Hall begins to empty.

When Tyler approaches, she grins at him. "Hi, Tyler."

"HI Dinah...uhm..Will said I should come talk to you, if I got a chance before he did about something." Even with all the good food and an evening of comfort packed into him..it's..

A little difficult, and fidgeting with the hem of his robes doesn't much help.

"...uhm..there's this one Slytherin fourth year...Charles Brigman who's been coming after me in the halls."

"Ugh, really?"

God., Dinah hates bullies. She frowns, and glances over to the Slytherin table. "Is he still here? Can you point him out?"

"He was over there," Tyler points out, there's a spot where his cronies are sitting but a lack of a certain blonde fourth year.

"He'll probably come back to his friends but.....yeah...."

Dinah glares at the space.

"Ok, Tyler, thanks for letting me know. I'll have him watched."

"...thanks." ...Watched...like literally?

"..uhm..... there's something else." He's fidgeting a bit. "I kind of can't use wands. Like....at all. Will said I should talk to you about it?"

"...he did?"

Dinah sounds genuinely surprised. "Why me?"

..To this, Tyler just shrugs.

"He said to talk to you about it, and also ask Professor Brown."

"Oh!"

Dinah gets it now, and grins. "I can't fix your wand. But I'm pretty good with alternatives.

"But they're not alternatives to use in fighting with your classmates."

"Well I can't exactly lob a potion at Brigman when he catches me alone..."

...Maybe bribe a Slytherin to dose his sneakers with a potion, or sneak it into a drink.

But that one won't be ready for another week.

"I'd settle for him backing off."
