Not Far from the Great Hall; Night Time

At lunch today Will received two owls from home, one from his father and one from Robin. They've been worrying him through class since he knows there's not much he can do from here and the halls of Hogwarts are feeling closer than normal.

Since its been raining quite hard for the past few days, he can't even have a good solid fly instead he's pulled his cloak up and is on the edge of the grounds near the Great Hall.

What he'd really like to do is go to the edge of the forest but he's not sure he can handle a detention with the mood he's in. When he gets tired of sitting still, he walks in the rain and then back into just inside the Great Hall. Maybe he can figure something to do to get him out of this funk, because its the kind that always leads to trouble.

(OOC: For general Great Hall area. Will is a bit more outside but can be pulled inside or wherever just tell me where you want him. I hope this works. :-))

He looks at her with a smile that doesn't make it to his eyes,

"Evening, Dinah. Where are you headed?"

"I was headed to the library to make a start on that Charms homework, Dinah says, in a tone that suggests she could change her mind easily.

"...Are you OK?"

[will_scarlett]

"I've been better but there's not much I can do about it right now."

[serinusniger]

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Dinah's already beckoning towards the staircase, as the nearest convenient place to sit.

He sits down and does a drying charm on his cloak as there's been more rain than he expected,

"Its complicated as there's more trouble at home."

[serinusniger]

"Ugh."

Dinah frowns in sympathy, rubbing her temples. "Is there anything we can do from here?"

[will_scarlett]

"I haven't thought of anything yet. Things are just so quietly bad that its hard to make much of a difference."

[serinusniger]

"That," Dinah says. "Sucks. I'm sorry."

She frowns at the ground, tapping her knees thoughtfully.

Then, "you wanna get our brooms and get soaking wet instead, then?"

She might not be on the team anymore, but she can still fly.

"Yes,"

He'd been thinking about it but wasn't looking for another detention but Dinah's good at making those go away.

Dinah gets out her wand for a quick water-repellent charm on both of them, and heads out, calling her broom (a Meteor) with a summoning charm when she gets outside.

"How's the team looking? Think we've got a chance this year?"

He summons his broom, an older model Firebolt that Robin helped him find,

"Yes, much better than last year."

Dinah gives him a shocked look. Which would be more effective if she wasn't trying not to laugh.

"Even without me on the team?"

[will_scarlett]

"It won't be easy but I think we can do it,"

With a smirk, he speeds up and flies towards the forest and the dark of the storm.

Dinah grins and jumps on her own broom, soon tailing him tightly, towards the storm. Her back straightens against the Meteor and her eyes gleam in the safety of the repellent charm.

"Yeah, well don't thin you can just replace me with some shiny new Chaser all that easily, Scarlet."

[will_scarlett]

Will's in the mood to feel the rain so he doesn't have his charm on and his red hair is already plastered down,

"I'll let you tell me if I choose wrong, won't mean I'll change my mind, but you can tell me to."

[serinusniger]

"If I needed your permission to tell you my opinion I'd never say anything," Dinah laughs.

As they near the forest she slows for a second, like she's contemplating being a good girl, then she throws caution to the wind and rockets forward. Sometimes it's good to screw the rules.

[will_scarlett]

He laughs before flying to catch up with her, "Which would be a shame."

[serinusniger]

She glances at him. We're going in, right? and shrugs.

"That's not what you said in Tranfiguration last week."

[will_scarlett]

"That was because your opinion was wrong,"

Then he nods and flies into the storm.

[serinusniger]

"Scandal!"

Dinah laughs, flying right along side him, into the wind, which picks up hte broom and throws it. But she rides it easily, rolling with the movement until she's almost flying upside down.

"My opinion is never wrong."

[will_scarlett]

He laughs and as the wind tries to knock him over, dodges in it, so that he's sometimes above her before being next to her again,

"Scandal would be who got caught in the empty classroom near Charms."

[serinusniger]

Dinah does nearly fall off her broomstick.

"That was two years ago!"

Unless he's talking about something else.

"Careful there,"

Well, other students have been caught but no one else had her flair and he smirks before flying around a tree and back to her.

[serinusniger]

Dinah rolls her eyes up at him. It takes more than a shock to dilodge her that much. To prove it, she relaxes her grip with her hands and somersaults back upright, holding on with just her knees.

"A girl gets caught fooling around once and you never let it go. What kind of friend do you call yourself?"

"You assumed I was talking about you and you're the one who hasn't forgotten. That classroom has a reputation now."
